Maddymadeline's Contest Entry - Inspired by Vampires

posted by artycraftyart on July 12, 2010 1:17 am

Maddy's contest here! Do support her yeah! =D

The fictional character that i'm inspired by is Vampires. They have this mysterious air about them and the female vampires are of those characters that often wear makeup but yet look really classy...and yes scary =p

I didn't intend to make this a halloween look so I toned it down...but then again...vampires are often portrayed as scary characters...at least to their human counterparts =p

errr...more scary pics ahead!

Heh heh heh... pardon the lousy fake vampire teeth... :P

Stage Makeover

posted by artycraftyart on June 30, 2010 11:53 pm

Me and my bestie both spent over 80bucks during Stage's sales and signed up to be a member!

So as a member one of the things we get is a free makeover!

Both of us had different MUA but its just such a coincidence that they're both stationed in the Suntec outlet!

And its our first time getting makeover'ed! =D

And we spent the rest of the time in Kbox camwhoring away!!! LOL

My Experience

My MUA was Zara. And shes sooo sweet and nice! When she first tried on a teal colour eye look for me, I didn't quite like it so I asked to change. And she was nice and happily went to change to another colour of my choice! Throughout the makeover, she chatted with me and checked if I'm happy with the look before she goes to the next part of the face. I'm happy and impressed =D After that, while I was waiting for my bestie, we continued to have a girl's chat where we talked about GSS!! Hahaa...which girl doesn't love sales?!

But I have to admit, the blush and contour looked quite heavy in person, which is probably why my cheek bones are more prominent in the pictures. Usually my camera just washes the colour out.

Overall a very pleasant experience. Although the makeup was nothing out of the usual, it still felt good to have makeup done by someone else other than ourselves! ahhh...maybe I'm just lazy hahaaa...

Heh...and i haven't posted my Stage Haul yet... oops...think i spent alot alot during the sales... =p

VOV Gentle and Shiny Eyeshadow Palette 04 - Swatches & mini Review

posted by artycraftyart on June 16, 2010 12:43 am

Consist of 10 Eyeshadows all containing shimmer particles.

As you can see from the swatches, some have more shimmery finish than others

Swatched without any primer/base.

Packaging: 4/5

Comes in a sleek black plastic casing with gold framed design and words. Has a mirror within and comes with 1 sponge tip applicator. Not bad, I quite like it =) Doesn't seem filmsy at all.

Texture: 4.5/5

Lovvvveeeee the texture! It feels creamy buttery like...soft texture. Feels very smooth. But at the same time, this makes the eyeshadow more susceptible to breakage especially if you tend to drop your eyeshadows. Its not a problem as long as you take care not to drop them =)

Pigmentation: 4/5

All the colours are pigmented except for the white one which is really sheer as you can see from the swatch.

Blendibility: 5/5

Because of its smooth texture, this blends like a dream.....literally.

Price: 5/5

I got this palette as a prize from Chantana's contest....I can't remember the exact price of this but it definitely cost less than SGD10. For 10 eyeshadows at such a price, i think its very worth it!

Overall: 4.5/5

I really like this palette alot!! Would reccommend this to anyone who is on a budget and even if you're not on a budget, get this palette! I'm tempted to go get the rest of the other palettes! *omg...calm down...noooooooooo* lol

Oh btw, i just changed my theme to something more simpler....and brighter! =D

Updates + Ed Pinaud Quad Eyeshadow Palette Swatches + Mini Review

posted by artycraftyart on June 14, 2010 6:10 pm

Hey peeps!! I have to apologize for MIA!! My schedule lately has been really hectic. And I could only be blogging sporadically unfortunately. You might find me blogging here and there and suddenly nothing till much later! Please bear with me ya...

I'm not sure when i could be blogging on regular basis but rest assure i'd still be around! Hehe....makeup is still my love~~~ =D

I would probably shift the focus for this blog towards more reviews, Looks and probably some haul stuffs.... yes although i'm on a makeup ban that failed miserably due to Stage's sales!!! omg... lol..

Alright...here comes the swatches + a mini review of Ed Pinaud Eyeshadow Palette in No. 3

Swatched without any primer nor base.

Packaging: 5/5

Beautiful gold casing with mirror, a plastic cover attached to protect the eyeshadows and 1 sponge tip, 1 brush applicators. Comes with a small black velvet pouch too. Looks very elegant, something which I would be proud to pull out of my purse to do touch ups with. =)

Texture: 4/5

They are quite well pressed into the pan and have minimal fallout. Does not feel chalky or gritty. Powder feels rather smooth.

Pigmentation: 4/5

As you can see from the swatches, they are rather pigmented.

Blendibility: 4/5

The shimmer shades blends like a dream while the matte shade(3) takes abit more time to blend out.

Price: 5/5 because it comes free with a magazine that costs $6.90? or $5.90 heh...

Overall: 4/5

I'm actually quite impressed with this eyeshadow palette. Love the colours, the packaging. It does have a slight fragrance to it but not something that would bother most people. It has 3 shimmery and 1 matte shade, suitable for people who wants different eyeshadow finishes. I'd say this palette is waaaay better than the single eyeshadow ones I had in the previous magazine gift(The previous Ed Pinaud single eyeshadow i own is in blue.)

What's up next?

More reviews on eyeshadow palettes, mascaras...etc

Stage, ELF and some random hauls

Final reason I have to convince myself not to buy eyeshadows

Two juicy lipglosses... i love having that plump subtle red lips and these are perfect for that!

Eyeshadows!! LA colors metallic eyeshadow in Unforgettable

Amura eyeshadow palette

I'm simply in love with the palettes! I love neutral shades! =D

I will do a swatch post which includes all the eyeshadows I've gotten recently. Stay around for that! ^_^
